Pelham PACT Summer 2016 Interns

The 2016 PACT Summer Internship Program is project-based and will allow teens the opportunity to create a project and marketing plan, express their ideas and opinions about youth engagement, and build their leadership skills. In addition to their work over the summer, these students will go on to lead PACT’s new Youth Leadership Council (YLC) during the 2016-17 school year.

This summer the interns will work on three projects:

  1. Design the infrastructure to support a youth-led teen center, including piloting weekly center activities and YLC meetings.
  2. Plan monthly “pop-up” teen center events with a variety of community resources, to determine the feasibility of a youth-led teen center.
  3. Create a youth-targeted social marketing plan promoting healthy behaviors utilizing the PACT brand.

Our team met for the first time on Monday and will be connecting on a regular basis with each other and the Pelham PACT staff. Additionally, a group of interns will attend the Y2Y Eastern States Conference at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, at the end of July. We will be posting updates from the interns throughout the summer, so stay tuned!
