Throughout its history, PACT has sponsored a number of initiatives, which build on the Coalition’s mission to encourage youth to make healthy, safe and substance free choices and empower our community to provide a protective and nurturing environment.

Our current and past initiatives are listed below. For more information on each one, click on the image or initiative name.

Current Initiatives:

Heart of Pelham PACT (HOPP) Award

The HOPP Award recognizes young people for demonstrating outstanding personal qualities, making healthy choices and serving as a positive influence on their peers through their actions and words. The award is given on a monthly basis during the school year and nominations are considered on a rolling basis.

We Connect. It Matters.

We Connect B&W Image

Throughout the year, PACT promotes the organization’s “We Connect. It Matters.” campaign, which will include key messaging and tips concerning the four things that parents can do when it comes to connecting with our kids: Talk. Care. Guide.Model.

Youth Leadership Summits

Youth Summit #1

Each year, Pelham PACT hosts a Leadership Summit for students in middle school or high school. Each year’s summit, which is open to around 100 students, is aimed at providing students with an opportunity to work with their peers to identify issues they face and potential solutions to those issues, all while enhancing their leadership skills.

Past Initiatives:

Family Time: Connections Count

Family Time

Family Time was a six-year long campaign that provided a monthly reminder of the importance of connecting with your family and sharing regular meals. Family Time’s messaging is continuing as PACT moves forward with other campaigns.

Pelham Take Out

Here’s a list of Pelham restaurants and shops that offer take out, with phone numbers and links, where available, to their menus. On a hectic evening, ordering out may make it easier to connect with your family over dinner.

Pelham University

Pelham University was a lecture series for parents highlighting issues of importance in raising kids. It was often been paired with the PACT biennial LiveChat youth leadership summits for Pelham teens, forming dual perspectives on raising happy, healthy and substance-free kids.

Talk About It

Talk About It was a PACT marketing effort that encouraged parents to talk to their children early, often and together about the dangers of underage drinking and substance abuse.
