We are excited to share that Pelham teen Tess Darrow was chosen to be the New York State representative for the D.A.R.E America Youth Advisory Board (YAB). Tess is a sophomore at PMHS and is a member of PACT’s Youth Leadership Council. She was also a 2016 PACT Summer Intern, where she attended the Youth to Youth International Eastern States Conference and worked to plan local Pelham events.

The D.A.R.E. America YAB was started in 2000 and features 50 members: one student per state. Students are selected through a state-wide search, and members of the YAB are eligible for the D.A.R.E. America Scholarship upon graduation from high school. As part of the YAB, Tess will provide youthful input and insight to D.A.R.E. America; speak to issues impacting the national and worldwide D.A.R.E. program; and to advise other government and community leaders on drug and violence prevention strategies beneficial to youth, among other responsibilities.

We are so proud of Tess and her commitment to being safe, healthy, and substance-free! Congratulations on this honor and best of luck in your new position!
